Mr Hoi - Violin and Viola

Mr Hoi has played violin since he was 8 years old and was trained at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory from 1994. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2002. He began work with the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra in 2003.

He has performed in many cities across the world, including Texas (USA), Tokyo (Japan) and Vientiane (Laos).

He has taught violin at BIS since 2010 and also teaches at the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory.



Ms Ha - Flute

Ms Ha has taught flute at BIS since 2005 and is our longest serving instrumental teacher. She teaches both at AP1 and AP2 and more recently also at BVIS.

She has played with a number of orchestras in Ho Chi Minh City and been on tour to a number of cities worldwide, including a tour of Europe last year.

Mr Minh joined our instrumental teaching staff in 2012 and enjoys the chance to share his passion of music with the children of BIS.

He returned to live in Vietnam in 2011 after spending 5 years studying music in the USA.


He says that he loves 'big instruments' and so chose to play both cello and double bass.


Mr Dung - Clarinet and Saxophone

Mr Dung graduated with a degree in clarinet from the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory. He also holds a diploma in saxophone from the Moscow state institute of culture. He spent 17 studying and teaching in Russia, before returning to Viet Nam.

He now teaches saxophone at the conservatory of music and is conductor of their jazz band. He enjoys teaching students in all styles, including classical, pop and jazz. He performs regularly at Saigon's jazz club.


Mr Davis - Drums, Guitar and Ukulele

Multi-instrumentalist Davis Zunk is our drum, guitar and ukulele teacher. He hails from New Orleans, Louisiana, where he studied jazz drumming at the University of New Orleans under the guidance of Ellis Marsalis. He has performed, toured and recorded extensively throughout the Southeastern United States.

In Vietnam, Davis continues to compose, record and perform music in a variety of musical styles. His passion for music inspires our youth to reach their full potential and truly embrace the musical arts. He believes music education is essential for the cognitive and social development of children.
