AP1 MAKES THEIR AUDIENCE SMILE

This year's AP1 Summer Concert had the theme "Walking on Sunshine: Music To Make You Smile" and our performers certainly did a great job of making this a cheerful and memorable event. All of our choirs and instrumental groups performed to a huge audience of family and friends. All of the performances were fantastic and, once again, our AP1 musicians made the Music team extremely proud.  Well done everyone!

Drumming Club Bucket Challenge!

Drumming Club took part in an exciting competition last week! It involved creating a musical piece using buckets as percussion. They divided into three groups and made up rhythms to play. These rhythms linked with other rhythms to create a fun and syncopated piece of music that also includes a solo from Jeong Min! Well done everyone who was involved, and come to see me if you were part of drumming club and want to help with decorating the buckets, planting flowers in them and placing them around the school :)

AP1 Summer Concert - Name That Tune!

Once again, the children of AP1 produced an amazing concert. All of the singers and instrumentalists performed brilliantly and the highlight of the evening was definitely the rousing finale, "Hey Jude", where we managed to get the audience to wave their hands in the air.

Well done, young musicians!

Awesome Drummers

The Drumming Club has been learning bass-tone rhythms on djembe drums and they are really rocking it! Surdos are their particular favourite, as well as agogo bells. Watch this video to see how well they have been doing in their rehearsals.

Let us know what you think. :)

Drumming Club

Today was our first Drumming Club session - well done to all of you for doing so well. We played lots of rhythm games and used a wide variety of percussion instruments. We also thought about the different styles of drumming used around the world - such as Samba, Taiko and Junk Band.

Use the comments box below to tell me what you would like to do in Drumming Club and why. I look forward to reading your suggestions.
