AP1 & TX Hit the High Notes

Last Saturday, the 2016 ABRSM High Scorers Concert took place in AP2. It was a fabulous evening's entertainment, featuring performances from students across the city who achieved the highest marks in their ABRSM Music examinations.

Many BIS students were featured and we were especially proud of those students from AP1 and TX who performed:

Desford Colliery Brass Band Visit BIS

Desford Colliery Brass Band visited us here at BIS for a series of concerts. They played concerts for EYFS, AP1 and TX and all of them were phenomenal. Judging from the reaction of the audience, the children found this a wonderful and memorable experience. We hope they can come again soon!

ABRSM Exams - Entry Deadline

The deadline for ABRSM exam entries is:

Friday 20th February.  

This is during the Tet holidays and it is recommended that you submit your exam entries to the AP2 Cashier before the end of this week.

FUN in Term One!

This term, the F3 children have been performing dance routines to a steady beat. We have also been enjoying the Stop Song, and making silly dances with it. Here we are having fun in our movement activities. :)

This song will be for the Orchestra, for all of the Choirs and even for the parents to join in with at our AP1 Carol Concert.

All I Want For Christmas Is You

Here is Mariah Carey singing "All I Want For Christmas Is You".  It will be the finale song in our AP1 Carol Concert and will feature the Orchestra and all of the Choirs.

I wonder who will be chosen to sing the solo at the start in the concert?  Start practising for the auditions now!

Charlie Cook's Favourite Book

This week is Book Week at AP1 and so we will be learning a new assembly song called "The World Inside a Book".  It is based on Charlie Cook's Favourite Book by Julia Donaldson.

Soundtracks

Year 5 have been learning about the importance of soundtracks in films and TV shows, and have been asked to add their own soundtrack to the trailer for the James Bond film "Skyfall".  If you are in Year 5 and would like to continue composing your own soundtrack at home, click on read more to find the trailer with muted audio.

The Start of Something New

If you are a member of the Mile Post 2 Choir then you know that we will be singing "The Start of Something New" from High School Musical as our solo item for our Summer Concert.  This AP1 Stage and Screen Extravaganza will take place on Thursday 12th June in the AP2 Auditorium, so it's time to get practising by singing along to the clip below.
