Ms Fran's Weekly Round-up

This week and last all of the children have begun looking at new topics.

Year 1 have been looking at the pulse/ beat of music. We have now bopped along to lots of different types of music and the children really enjoyed singing the Pinocchio song and the Swimming Song to help show the pulse and how we can control it.

Year 2 have been exploring pitch. This week they sang a song all about a bossy duck who ruled the other ducks with a 'Quack, Quack, Quack'!

Year 4 have started looking at the Elements of Music and how they can use them to arrange their own music. Here are some pictures of Mr Wayne's class completing a 'Musical Elements Challenge' (it was a bit like Ready, Steady Cook!).

In Year 6 we have begun looking at creating music for a purpose, using soundscapes to create a mood and thinking about who we work best with in order to best complete the set tasks. We spent some time grouping ourselves according to different questions in order to work out who we would work best with. One of these questions was, 'what's your favourite kind of music?'. This caused lots of discussion.

I wonder what your favourite kind of music is? Why not add a sticky note to the wall below by double clicking anywhere in the clouds.
