WOW! Look at what the Year 4 drummers got up to last week in our lunchtime club. Click on 'read more' to see our video.
Some of the children had never played an African drum, called a djembe, before. We decided to create our own piece of music using poly-rhythms (many rhythms played at the same time) and each section had its own Master Drummer who was in charge of making sure everyone was playing at the right time.
Have a look and a listen and tell us what you think. Can you spot the Master Drummers? Can you see the different ways you can hold the drum? Can you hear more than one rhythm being played at the same time?
Welldone Drummers :-)
