Yann Tiersen
(1970 - present)
Yann Tiersen is a French performer and composer. He is most famous for composing the music for the film Amelie, and you might have heard some of his music from the video 'The Piano'.

Yann Tiersen was born in France and currently lives there, touring Europe with his band as much as he can. He enjoys composing minimalist music, that uses ostinati and repetition, with folk, rock and classical features. He can play the piano, violin and is a good singer too. Yann likes to use strange combinations of sounds to create his music, including using a typewriter on some of his tracks.
Yann has won a Cesar Award and a World Soundtrack Academy Award for his film music for Amelie.
