Did you know...
- Debussy wanted to become a sailor when he was a little boy
- He didn't like going to school, or being told what to do!
- He loved playing the piano and found out that if he wanted to get better he would have to listen to his teachers.
- Debussy won the Prix de Rome, a very special Music prize.
- He wrote many pieces of music for piano, for choirs and for orchestra.
- Debussy writes for the different instruments and voices like a painter uses colour, choosing the individual sounds to mix and blend together.
