Musician of the Month: Muddy Waters

Muddy Waters was a Blues musician who was born in Mississippi, USA, but became very popular in Chicago, USA.

Muddy Waters original name was McKinley Morganfield.
He got his nickname from his grandmother, who raised him, because he liked playing in mud.

He influenced a lot of later bands that used elements of Blues in their music, like The Rolling Stones. The guitarist in this band, Keith Richards, really liked Muddy Waters' music and said that Muddy Waters' music made him want to play the Blues guitar.
