Cy Coleman was an American composer and songwriter and he wrote many songs for musicals. A lot of these musicals were shown on Broadway in New York, where he was born. He wrote the music for 'Sweet Charity' which is a musical about a female dancer looking for love. Here is a song called 'The Rhythm of Life' from the musical, which harmony choir and MP3 choir will be singing in the Summer Concert. It will also be a highlight of the FOBISIA Carnival!

Cy Coleman was a child prodigy, which means that from a young age he was very skilled and talented. His talent was in music, like Mozart when he was a young boy. Cy Coleman gave piano recitals at Steinway Hall, Town Hall and Carnegie Hall (which are very fancy music venues) between the ages of six and nine! At these performances, he played classical music. After this, he went on to play jazz piano and played in a lot of well known jazz night clubs. He then started writing popular music songs and songs for musicals. For the musical, 'Barnum', he wrote the song, 'Come Follow the Band'. MP2 choir will be singing this at the Summer Concert, so make sure you are there to hear these great performances!
