This week we have been very pleased to welcome Ben Moermond, principal bassoon player for the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Ben previously studied performance at the Juilliard School and is the latest of their alumni to visit BIS and work with our students.
During his visit, Ben visited all three campuses to run a series of performances, demonstrations, instrumental lessons, and question and answer sessions. All of our students from Fundinotots upwards were given the opportunity to learn about the bassoon, the lowest instrument in the woodwind family. A fantastic musical and educational experience for all involved!
