Bruno Mars was born in 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was actually called Peter Gene Hernandez. He was one of six children and grew up in a family full of musicians. In fact, when he was younger, Bruno Mars worked as an Elvis impersonator, just like one of his uncles.
Bruno is not only a great singer but also an accomplished instrumentalist, dancer and songwriter. As well as writing his own songs, he composes them for other artist. For example, he co-wrote "Wavin' Flag" with K'Naan, the song which we sang at the end of this year's International Day Assembly.

Bruno Mars has sold 10 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide in just the last 3 years. He has also had 5 Number One hit singles in the US.
Here is his bestselling single, "Just The Way You Are", which sold 12.5 million copies.
I like this song because it's really uplifting. I am also enjoying watching the musicians in the background doing their dancing :-)
ReplyDeleteI love this song because it's really soft but very catchy. I had no idea that Bruno Mars co-wrote the song, "Wavin' Flag!" :^O
